2024 Vic Falls/Botswana/Caprivi/Etosha Trip

Namibia is known for spectacular encounters with nature and a wide range of activities to appeal to your spirit of adventure. Those who enjoy absolute tranquility can opt for a dolphin cruise and a camel or horse trail adventure through the desert. Motorcycling enthusiasts can enjoy car races, and those who prefer to walk can find various hiking routes and caves across the country. Extreme sports such as mountaineering, endurance racing, skydiving and hiking through the second largest canyon in the world are for those who want to get the adrenaline pumping through their veins.
Driving can be challenging, distances are vast, wildlife is truly wild – it’s certainly not for the faint of heart.

Itinerary

The itinerary serves as an example and can be customized.

Day 1
Arrive at Victoria Falls Airport where I will meet you. Then we drive to the beautiful Ilala Lodge B&B. Depending on your arrival time, we hike to the mighty Victoria Falls, which are not far from the lodge. The spray from the falls can be seen from the lodge’s terraces. If you fancy a real African evening, we go to BOMA for dinner (pp US$ 50.00), with singing and drums and a good buffet. If you want it a little quieter, we’ll stay in the hotel for dinner, great a la carte cuisine.

Day 2
Today you have time for a helicopter flight (currently US$ 175.00 per person) and in the afternoon a sundowner boat tour (currently US$ 95.00 per person). Overnight Ilala Lodge B&B.

To enter Zimbabwe, please bring US$ 30.00 per person (currently) plus another US$30.00. In Zimbabwe you can only pay with US$. Visa to Zimbabwe is US$30 per person and entry to the falls is US$30.00 each. THAT HAS NOT CHANGED UNTIL NOW.

Day 3
We leave Zimbabwe and drive across the border into Botswana. Chobe National Park has the largest concentration of elephants in the world. The Chobe River is the lifeline of these gray giants and other animals too, which you can see up close here!! This afternoon we take our first sundowner cruise on the Chobe River. We sleep 2 nights in the beautiful Chobe River Lodge DBB.

Day 4 & 5
Very early in the morning we take a jeep game drive through Chobe Park. Then today we will be taken by boat to the wonderful Chobe Water Villas FI on the Namibian side. Here we stay 2 nights with a great view, great suites and good food. From here we take boat trips.

Day 6 & 7
We drive over the border into Namibia, namely on the Kwando River to the great Nambwa Lodge DBB. A lodge on stilts. I already had it that the elephants walked through below. In the afternoon a boat trip. The next morning we visit the Sijwa project, where it is explained how people ‘recycle’ here on the island and have a look at the African culture. Then back at the lodge, time to relax and then in the afternoon a game drive to the famous ‘horseshoe’ in Bwabwata National Park.

Day 8
Continue through Bwabwata National Park to the Okavango River to Divava Okavango Lodge on DBB. On the way we visit the Popa waterfalls (actually they are just rapids). Time to relax and or visit the SPA. Sundowner boat ride.

Day 9
After breakfast we drive to Mahangu National Park in search of

Roan antelopes/sable antelopes/elephants and much more. Afternoon rest and in the afternoon we drive by jeep to the Buffalo Core Area of ​​the park where we see many animals and maybe lions and leopards. Divava Okavango Lodge DBB.

Day 10
It continues one last time through Black Africa to over the veterinary border, where commercial farmland begins at Grootfrontein, if you want, past the Hoba meteorite, until just before the Etosha National Park in the Mushara Lodge DBB. 2 nights DBB.

Day 11
We drive to the park for game viewing.

Day 12 &13
After an early breakfast we drive into the park, from one waterhole to another in search of animals, cats and birds. Then we drive briefly out of the park to the beautiful Etoscha Oberland Lodge DBB. Here, too, we can watch the coming and going of the animals at a waterhole that is illuminated at night.

Day 14
Back to Windhoek for departure.
